More news

To add to the news of recent days there has also been (another) stabbing of a school kid at school and a man being killed in a machine on a boat in Hout Bay. There have been numerous reports since we've been here of children being in fights at school, and every time someone has been stabbed and/or taken to hospital.

Also yesterday a bill was passed in Government to allow same-sex marriages starting on December 1st here in South Africa. There was a lively debate on the radio this morning. It seems that most people are for the new law, but that most gay couples won't go out and get married just because it is now legal. There was also a mention of Cape Town, as an already popular marriage location, being visited by more and people who want to get married here. There are also those against the new law who say that this new bill goes against the culture of the continent and the beliefs of most of the country's citizens.

Never a dull moment.
