Penguins

On Friday after the guys had come home from school, Milja, Matias, Ervo, Raija, Vieno and I left to Boulder's Beach in Simon's Town to have a look at the penguins there. As was usual, the day wasn't too bright (all three times Milja and I have been, it has been cloudy and cold!). Chapman's Peak Drive was closed so we had to take an alternate route through Constantia and up over the hills from near the end of the M3. It was a great drive, we had amazing views from various high vantage points along the way.

On the way back, Milja spotted some whales very close to the shore as we left Simon's Town. We have only seen them from high up above Muizenberg before, but these ones were swimming and having fun about 100 metres from us. Quite a sight!
