Fork
On Friday evening, Milja, Hattie, Charlotte and I went into Cape Town to try out a new restaurant called Fork. We go out for meals all the time and we have semi created an eating club, meaning we try to go to different restaurants each time we eat.
Charlotte and Hattie booked us a table at a small little restaurant on Long Street. We only managed to get a table because Charlotte told them we were there to try out the food and location for the school's Prom in May. The venue was chosen a while ago, so this was in fact a lie :)
Fork is a tapas restaurant which serves purely tapas and desserts. Having tapas is a great way to eat as you can get a near continuous stream of food to your table throughout the night without feeling full at all, and it allows for free-flowing conversation as you are never stuck with a whole plate to eat to stop chit-chat. The only down side is that it can get slightly more pricey than having a usual one or two course meal, as each plate (which contained four pieces at Fork) costs R30 or R45. Luckily Charlotte's Mum, who is on the Prom Committee, gave us some extra money in order to help pay as it was her idea to go.
The food was delicious and it was great to be able to order a wide variety of dishes. I would love to go again to try out the dishes that we didn't try this time around.
