the morning after the night before

yesterday was an EVTEK trip to Suomenlinna, a historic group of islands just off Helsinki. Milja and Marit came with to meet Janne, Sami and John for the first time. by the time we got Soumenlinna the guys had a few beers down them. we explored for a bit (with looooads of stops for John to pee) and sat on the top of a mound. we couldnt see our Media Engineering group anywhere, so we left the mound to find them. was a mission down again.

just round the corner (and after another potty stop) we saw loads of upper years sagging around in a large group. still no sign of our class, but we sat on a rock and chilled. by now the guys had been drinking for a coupla hours. loads of upper years were starting to huddle in a group standing up with bits of paper. on the paper was the words to some Finnish song (i think) and they had added the word 'nyt' (now) in. everytime they got to 'nyt' they had to have a swig of their drink, and it was so funny, you'd hear everyone singing real loud, then suddenly "NYT" and everything was quiet and they had a sip. was hilarious. bloomin' finns, tell you what haha.

as the sun started going down it was getting cold, so me and the girls started to leave. we got to the ferry and janne rang and he was shouting real loud. apparently we'd left just before some drunken competition where there were teams of 6 and they had to make the longest line they could of the clothes they were wearing haha. he was really excited (and a little drunk).

im in uni now and i was just talking to one of the other guys and he said he had left the bar that everyone was going to later on in the evening at 1am and the guys were still there going strong - john was wasted, sami was ok but a little drunk, and janne was drunk but he wasnt too wasted. haha. no wonder none of them are here yet and it's already 12, half way through the school day. we have Engineering Maths in an hour, hopefully they'll pop in for that hehe.

must go, have to find the Finnish teacher to see if i can skip some of the language lessons...
